We are excited by the significant progress made on our Wheatstone Project.
In 2009 we moved ahead with environmental, engineering and social impact studies, established a plant size, continued field appraisal, started the front-end engineering and design phase, were joined by new partners and third party gas suppliers and signed an Heads of Agreement (HOA) for 4.1 mtpa of LNG sales.
We are assessing how to maximise the opportunities and reduce risks of potential impacts of this project. We will continue to bring together an exceptional development team – already more than 300 strong – to achieve Wheatstone's full potential.
An important part of this is Chevron’s own Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment process. This process ensures we understand the environment and communities we are going to operate in and understand how we may affect them.
By working with the Onslow community, we will produce a social impact management plan that will help Chevron become a welcome neighbour whose presence benefits Onslow, the state and the nation.
